Will your company be blocked from filing its confirmation statement?
Every UK company director must now verify their identity with Companies House. The transition ends 17 November 2026 — and your company cannot file its confirmation statement unless every director has verified. Enter your company number to check yours, free.
Your company number — also called the company registration number, or CRN — is an 8-character number on any Companies House letter. Or find it by searching your company name on the Companies House register.
What to do — it's free and takes minutes
- Each director verifies once, directly with Companies House, using GOV.UK One Login. It is free — usually a few minutes with photo ID (passport, driving licence) on a phone.
- They get an 11-character personal code. Keep it — it's needed when the company files its confirmation statement.
- Stuck (no photo ID, verification failing)? Authorised agents (ACSPs) can verify identities for a fee — typically £15–150. The official guidance lists the routes. You never need to pay if One Login works for you.
Nobody should charge you just to use One Login — that route is free from Companies House.
